Q1. Why should I buy the service?

Ans.:Any computer connected to the internet is vulnerable to virus and hack attacks. Even while surfing the internet, your computer can unwittingly get infected with some spyware, malicious software which can steal your data. Frequently this leads to slow speed, and the hours that you have purchased, get over soon as without your knowledge, the spyware on your PC is using the internet connection to send and receive data.
Hence VSNL is promoting this service to our subscribers, to assure you of safe surfing and at high speeds.

Q2. How much will I have to pay for this service?

Ans.: At present we have 2 plans:
  1. A monthly plan which will cost you Rs.50 per month plus taxes @ 10.20%. so your bill will come to Rs.55.13 per month.
  2. The yearly plan will cost you Rs. 500 plus taxes @ 10.20%. So your total bill will come to Rs. 551.

This is a special discount for VSNL subscribers only from the Rs.2400 which Trend retails in the market. You can subscribe by going to the PC security page on the Tata Indicom Total Internet portal and signing up.


Q3. What will I get under this service?

Ans.: On subscription to this service, you will receive the Trend Pc-cillin 2006 Internet Security software package.

Depending on your subscription plan, monthly/yearly, you will be entitled free virus signature updates, new virus alerts, anti-spy ware signature alerts and any updates to the software for the period of the subscription.


Q4. I am a Prepaid/Postpaid Tata Indicom Total Internet customer. Am I eligible for the PC security product?

Ans.: If you are a Tata Indicom Total Internet customer in the Prepaid Hourly and Unlimited plans or Postpaid DialNet plan,, you would be eligible for the PC security solution. If you are a Postpaid customer with an eth.net domain, you would not be eligible for the service.

Q5. Can I buy multiple licenses?

Ans.: Yes, you can buy multiple licenses, during buying any one license, please check the Buy Multiple Licenses box, this will enable you to come back to the same page after buying a license. You will have to repeat this as many times as the licenses you need.

Q6. What is this "Auto Renew" feature?

Ans.: The Auto Renew option if ticked during purchase will ensure that your subscription gets automatically renewed every month as soon as your subscription ends.

If you want to manually renew your subscription, please leave this box unchecked.
This is for your convenience as you do not need to remember and renew every month.

Q7. How do I start my trial period if I am a dial-up customer?

Ans.: If you are a dial-up customer, you would be required to Download the PC security Client software (if you are trying to download the software from a PC not connected to your dial-up account) or order a CD containing the client software. The file size of the client software is 45 MB . Hence, it would be advisable to order a CD in case you are planning to use the antivirus software on the PC connected to your Tata Indicom Total Internet account.

Q8. Will I be charged for downloading the 45 MB file or if I order a CD for the trial period?

Ans.: Yes, you would be required to pay for the Internet access charges and telephone charges if you download the software using your Tata Indicom Total Internet connection. We suggest that you use a download accelerator software so that you do not have broken downloads. If you order a CD containing the client software, you would be required to pay Rs. 52 from your Total Internet account as soon as you accept the Order CD option from the website

Q9. If I choose to subscribe to the PC security solution after the trial period, would I be required to order the Client software CD again?

Ans.: The client software CD is a one time requirement and you would not require to order the same again at the time of subscription.

Q10. My download stopped without completing, what should I do?

Ans.: We suggest that you use a download accelerator to download the software. You can find many at www.download.com. We recommend Internet Download Accelerator. However you can use any other download accelerator that you prefer.

Q11. Why are there no refunds on cancellation?

Ans.: We are providing this service to you at over 90% discount prices on the product. Hence as a policy issue we would not be able to allow a refund on cancellation of the service

Q12. What is the cancellation policy, when can I cancel?

Ans.: You can cancel at any time you prefer. The cancellation policy is that you will not receive any refunds.

Please uninstall the Trend Pc-cillin software from your machine. You will not be able to download any updates after cancellation.
