Q3. Which plan would be attached to me when the User ID and Password is generated? Do I have a choice of selecting my plan in the first month of usage?

Q4. How do I change my plan details?
Ans.: All you need to do is go to “Change my Postpaid plan” link in the My Account section on www.internet.vsnl.in and select the plan required by you. The same would get attached to your account in the next month.
Q5. How would I be charged for the value added services which I activate over and above the features specified in the product bundle?
Ans.:
The product bundle cover the cost of the Internet access and in case of UnlimitedPlus, it covers Internet access and the cost of the 1 month/3 month PC Security software package. The additional Value Added Services activated by you i.e. Net Telephony and Additional Mail Space/Mail ID s would be charged over and above the product cost. The broad line items in which the charges would appear are:
- Net Telephony monthly rentals for special rate plans.
- Net Telephony usage charges for the talktime consumed. This would depend on the destinations called and the applicable tariffs (Rs./Min) for the same.
- Charges for Additional Mail Space at Rs. 10 per MB per month would be billed to your monthly usage statement.
- Charges for Additional Mail ID’s would at Rs. 250 per annum would be billed to your monthly statement, in the month of subscription. This fee is applicable on an annual basis, hence the charges would apply irrespective of the plan changes made by you on the Postpaid service, unless de-activated by you.
Q6. What are the details of the Billing cycle for the Postpaid Service?
Ans.:
We would be configuring two billing cycles for all customers signing up in the Postpaid services on the 5th and 20th of every month. The usage bill would be generated and sent to the VSNL E-Mail ID created for the customers and to the alternate E-Mail ID as specified in the form. The E-Mail would confirm that the billed amount as per the usage details are being presented to the bank for debiting from your account.
The Usage details of any particular month can also be checked in the My Account section on www.internet.vsnl.in.
Q7. When would the bill be raised for usage and what would be the implication of any session which I would be using at the time of running the bill?
Ans.: The bill would be run on the midnight on 4th for the billing cycle of 5th and on the midnight on 19th for the billing cycle of 20th. In case of any session being used by you at the time of running the bill i.e. before midnight to the next day, the session would remain unaffected, but the charges for usage for the session would be charged in the next month’s bill.
Q8. What is the policy of allowing change in plans for the Postpaid Dial Up customers?
Ans.:
The request for plan change applied by you in any billing cycle would come into effect in the next billing cycle. The new plan would come into effect after midnight on 4th and 19th depending on the billing cycle which you are on.
Any value added services subscribed by you would continue uneffected in the billing cycle unless de-activated by you.
Q9. What is the implication on Plan change, of an ongoing session which continues after midnight at the time of running the bill?
Ans.:
At the time of running the bill, if you are in middle of a session which continues to the new billing cycle, the charges for the entire session would be billed onto the next month’s bill. The charges would be reflected in the additional usage charges for the new plan.
We have shown you two plan change scenarios for your understanding assuming that your billing date is the 4th of every month.
If you are on Use’N’Pay plan and are shifting to NightSurf and your session on the Use’N’Pay plan continues from 11:00 p.m. on the 4th of the month to 1:00 a.m. on the 5th of the month, the next month’s bill would reflect as additional usage charges as follows:
Usage in Hours: 2
Rate per hour for additional usage in NightSurf in Rs.: 5
Total additional usage in Rs.: 10
Although the time band of 9 p.m. to 9 a.m. is under free usage for NightSurf, but this session would be charged under the additional usage category
If you are on NightSurf plan and are shifting back to Use’N’Pay and your session on the NightSurf continues from 11:00 p.m. on the 4th of the month to 1:00 a.m. on the 5th of the month, the next month’s bill would reflect as additional usage charges as follows:
Usage in Hours: 2
This usage of 2 hours would be added up to the total Dial Up usage of the Use’N’Pay plan and would be considered for rating at either Rs. 6, Rs. 5.5 or Rs. 5
Since the feature of Use’N’Pay gives benefit for higher usage, your chances of getting rated at a lower rate per hour would be more for the next month’s cycle.
Q10. Will I be intimated on the usage bill which is to be deducted from my Credit Card account? If there is any clarification on the usage bill required by me, how do I verify the same?
Ans.: The usage bill which would be raised in your Credit Card monthly statement would be E-Mailed to you in a detailed format, split into Internet access, Value Added services usage and any other component charged/discounted. The details can also be viewed in your My Account section in www.internet.vsnl.in and used as a reference point for any clarifications you have with respect to the usage bills.
Q11. What if I do not agree to the usage amount being charged to my Credit Card account? Will there be any refunds/adjustments made from your side in case of such disputes?
Ans.: Your VSNL User ID will be considered your identity for all billing purposes. The monthly usage bills will be raised to your Credit Card account as per the Dial Up sessions and Value Added Services subscribed by you, which can also be viewed by you on our website, www.internet.vsnl.in in the My Account section. In case of any disputes, there will only be a clarification issued by us on your usage, and there would be no refunds or adjustments.
Q12. For the commitment based plans i.e. NightSurf, BudgetSurf and UnlimitedPlus, when would the rental be charged?
Ans.: For all the commitment based plans, the rental would be charged in the bill of the month of subscription itself.
Q13. Is there any condition of minimum usage attached to the Postpaid Dial Up plan? What impact would it have on my User ID?
Ans.: If you do not login continuously for 3 billing cycles using your Postpaid Dial Up User ID, you would be charged a Service Continuation Fee of Rs. 100 in the 3rd month’s usage bill for enjoying uninterrupted Internet access. We would be sending you a reminder E-Mail 20 days before the 3rd month’s billing cycle date informing you regarding the same. If you login between the reminder date and the 3rd month’s billing cycle date, the Service Continuation Fee will not be charged to your usage bill.
Q14. What will be the validity of my Postpaid Dial Up account?
Ans.: Sir, at the time of signing up for the Postpaid Dial Up service, we would be fixing the expiry date of your Credit Card as the expiry date of the account. Your VSNL User ID would be available at the backend for 2 months after the expiry of your Credit Card, and you can choose to retain the same within these 2 months by filling a new Facilitation Form. However if your Postpaid account is made inactive before the Credit Card validity expiry, due to decline of payments or manual de-activation, your User ID would be available for Postpaid Dial Up for 2 months after your Credit Card expiry date. You can fill a new facilitation form and retain the User ID. If you sign up again after 2 months of your Credit Card expiry, you would be given a new User ID and the old User ID would be closed.
Q15. Is there any Credit Limit at which I would be prompted for payments?
Ans.:
Yes. We have fixed a monthly credit limit of Rs. 1,000 for usage of Value Added Services, which would cover the following:
- Monthly rental for any value added service i.e. Net Telephony special rate plans, Additional Mail Space/Mail ID’s, Subscription charges for PC Security or Britannica etc.
- One time subscription fee for Global Roaming.
- Usage of Net Telephony talktime and premium services such as Global Roaming.
On reaching 80% of the credit limit, you would be prompted by an E-Mail to your VSNL ID and Alternate ID, as well as a phone call would be made to you. On reaching 100% credit limit, the value would be debited from your account. The charges for the credit limit would be shown in the monthly usage bill.

Ans.:
Your Postpaid Dial Up account would be de-activated under the following circumstances:
- Manual de-activation : You can choose to de-activate your Postpaid Dial Up account in the My Account section of www.internet.vsnl.in . The usage charges for the Internet access done by you would be charged to your Credit Card account, till the date of de-activation on that month. Any payments due to your account for the rentals for the committment plans, Rentals for the special rate Net Telephony plans and Additional Mail Space/Mail ID’s would apply as activated in the last month’s bill.
- Decline of the billed amount by the Bank: Decline from the bank for the usage amount would lead to de-activation of the Postpaid Dial Up account. We would make an outbound call to verify with you, and in case there is a geniune decline, the account would be de-activated.
- Credit Card not renewed: When the Credit Card is renewed by you, a new facilitation form needs to be given to us (details mentioned in the Renewal of facilitation form). In case of non-renewal of the facilitation form, the account would be de-activated.
- Change in Credit Card details not intimated to VSNL: In case, the Credit Card details are changed by you, and you require to attach the existing VSNL User ID to the changed Credit Card number, a new Facilitation Form needs to be issued to us.
Q17. What is the policy for renewing the Standing Instruction and keeping the VSNL User ID intact after changing the Credit Card details?
Ans.:
Following are the policies related to both:
- Renewal of Facilitation Form:
- When the Credit Card expires and a renewal is done, a new Facilitation Form needs to be issued to VSNL.
- We would be calling you and sending E-Mailers to your VSNL E-Mail ID and the alternate E-Mail ID reminding you to renew your Facilitation Form.
