Q1. What is so unique about this billing system?

Ans.: This is the first time in the country that an Internet Service Provider has provided such great flexibility to the subscriber by enabling him to buy a wide variety of products and features using the same value. You will also be now able to track on a daily basis the usage that you have done by getting detailed usage records. Moreover, you will be able to use Net Telephony also on the existing ID and account value.

This billing system also quickens up the registration and renewal process and will be able to give you alert updates when your usage nears completion

Q2. Why has this new system been introduced?

Ans.: This new system has been introduced to help empower you to use the value that you have spent on the Tata Indicom Total Internet across multiple products like Internet Access, Net Telephony, Email and much more.

Q3. What are the multiple products and features available that can be purchased under the new system?

Ans.: Using the same value that you have put in towards purchase of Internet hours, you will be able to use products like Net Telephony, email features like additional mail ID and additional storage space,etc. Also, you can use the same value to activate a host of new features in your account like Free night surfing, Buying Additional mail box space, Crakblok security etc

Q4. How will this change impact me as a current subscriber of VSNL?

Ans.: You will start seeing your account balance in terms of Rupee value rather than the hours that he currently sees. We will be converting his account balance from hours to Rupees. A more detailed Balance Enquiry section has been created for you where you can see all this information

Q5. How will this conversion from Hours to Rupees be done?

Ans.: It is a very easy to understand conversion. If you have purchased a 100 hour fresh pack for RS 864, Rs. 64 out of it goes as Service Tax (@8%) to the Govt. Of India. Therefore the net value available would be Rs. 800. We would be mentioning the rate at which per hour of your Internet access will be charged. This rate would be calculated as the Net value available divided by the maximum possible paid hours available in the plan. So in the above example, the rate per hour for that particular customer would be RS 8.00 per hour. You will hence be charged Rs 8.00 per hour for every hour of Internet access

Q6. When I renew my account, how will I get impacted?

Ans.: Before the implementation of the 'Portal billing system', if you renewed your account, then the renewal hours came into effect only when the original account expired in terms of validity or in terms of number of hours consumed. Therefore, the value and the validity of the original account and the renewal account were mutually exclusive.

Under the new system, we allow for carry forward of your un used value. Which means, if you renew your account, then we shall display a page to you where a table listing all details of your balance amount and the renewal pack will be displayed to you. You will then get two options to choose from:
Option 1 - Renew the account by keeping the existing rate per hour and the validity of the current pack
Option 2 - Renew the account by taking the rate per hour of the renewal pack and the validity of the renewal pack

This empowers you to select from the best rate or best validity that you want for your account

Q7. What will be the benefits to me after changing over to the new billing system?

Ans.: Apart from being able to use one common value across multiple products and features, you will also be able to carry forward your pending hours from the original account that would have expired under the earliersystem when your account would have expired.

Q8. Is there any impact on the Global roaming facility that I currently have with VSNL?

Ans.: No. Your current service features continue without any difference.

Q9. I have an unlimited pack which I had taken from VSNL. Can I renew my pack?

Ans.: No. You would need to create a User Name on the vsnl.net domain if you wish to continue using the Tata Indicom Total Internet from VSNL.

Q10. I have an unlimited pack. How have you done the value conversion for me?

Ans.: We have calculated the rate per day that you have already paid us and the number of balance days has been multiplied with the same. On that basis your balance value has been determined. For more details click here.

Q11. I have already renewed my hourly account. How will the value get displayed for me?

Ans.: In this case the value in your renewal pack is added to your existing value and the maximum of the validities of the two packs is provided to you. Thus you benefit by being able to carry forward the hours that would have otherwise expired on the validity of the existing pack.
